Customer Requirement
The customers Dental Practice required a custom Neoprene cabinet access “Cuff”. The Cuff was used by technicians to allow them to insert their hands through the cabinet while keeping dust and particles contained. This type of Cabinet is commonly used when working with Resin dust and grinding Acrylic.
The “Cuffs” get stretched over a metal plate with prongs and the holes need to match up precisely. They were looking for a new company, in the past they had problems with the holes in the Neoprene not lining up correctly.
Our Solution
To ensure a precise fit, we requested that the customer provide a sample of their existing neoprene cuff along with the corresponding metal mounting plate. After evaluating several prototypes and design variations, we developed a solution that met the customer’s specifications and performed reliably in their workflow. For enhanced comfort and ease of use, we selected a 1 mil neoprene for the hand entry point, providing flexibility without compromising durability. To achieve consistent and accurate hole placement, we utilized a custom die-cutting process. Additionally, each hole was reinforced with heavy-duty N100 nylon to enhance strength and extend product lifespan under repeated use.
Customer Feedback
The customer expressed a high level of satisfaction with the final solution and has continued to place recurring orders for the cuffs as part of their ongoing operations!
